In all cases, we advise you to consult with a medical professional if you are concerned about DPD Deficiency.   If you are already under the care of a doctor, the following information may be helpful to share.  

A check for abnormal levels of Thiamine in the urine is a preliminary test that helps determine if a person is possibly DPD Deficient.  At this time, DPD Deficiency can only be positively diagnosed through genetic testing.
